Lycra, Jeanologia and Global Denim cooperate to promote nearshoring

A new partnership between major players in the denim supply chain, namely the fibre manufacturer, The Lycra Company, the Mexican denim manufacturer Global Denim and the Spanish finishing specialist Jeanologia, aims to strengthen domestic production (nearshoring) of denim in North and South America.

To demonstrate the benefits, an 11-piece collection was developed and presented at the Kingpins denim trade fair in New York. The collection includes garments with different fits and fabrics, putting to use the different fabric qualities of Global Denim such as hyper-stretch, comfort stretch and body-hugging technologies. There are also various Lycra technologies, including sustainable fibres made from recycled materials, as well as fabrics made from Thermolite EcoMade for lightweight warmth and Coolmax EcoMade for dry, cool comfort.

All garments were crafted in Jeanologia’s newest Innovation Hub in Miami. Inspired by iconic vintage denim finishes, the collection was produced in a completely eco-friendly way. Using laser and G2 Indra Ozone technology, the collection features “stone wash” looks created without the need for stones or chemicals through Jeanologia’s Atmos process.

The collaboration is called “Oneness” and is intended to symbolise that partnerships and cooperation are the driving forces for the change we need, the companies said in a joint press release.
