Mango introduces teen store concept in UK
Spanish fashion retailer Mango has taken to the UK to introduce its first international store dedicated to teenagers ahead of wider expansion plans for the concept.
Mango Teen has opened its doors on London’s Foubert’s Place, the first of the chain’s teen-focused concept to have stepped outside of Spain, albeit keeping consistent with the signature Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic.
Within the 2,480 square foot space, the opening of which was initially reported on by Drapers, is a selection of clothing, footwear and accessories, with categories spanning casual wear to occasionwear.
Mango Teen stores first debuted in Spain mid-2022, and have since seen an increase in demand for the offering. Both Mango Kids and Teen welcomed a turnover growth of almost 20 percent in 2023, accounting for 8 percent of the group’s total sales, as highlighted by Drapers.
Speaking to the media outlet, director of Mango Kids and Teen, Berta Moral, said the company was planning to have 25 teen stores by the end of 2024, located across Spain, the UK and Andorra.
On the teen concept’s future, Moral said Mango was “optimistic about continued strong performance in the coming years”, noting that the category had experienced double-digit sales growth every year since its launch and as such an “ambitious expansion plan” was underway.
