Uniqlo outlines Canadian expansion plans for Spring 2025
Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo has announced plans to open four new stores in Ontario and Quebec, Canada this spring. This includes locations in Maple View shopping center in Burlington and Union Station in Toronto, Ontario, Place Stefoy in Québec City, and Galeries d’Anjou in Montréal, Québec.
The first of the four stores to open is the one in Québec City. All four new stores are set to offer Uniqlo’s full range of LifeWear apparel for all ages, seasonal collaborations, and the popular UT line of graphic t-shirts.
“We are very grateful to our patrons in Canada and look forward to fostering more meaningful relationships with new customers,” said Yuya Tanahashi, chief operating officer for Uniqlo Canada, in a statement. “I am optimistic about our Canadian growth, and we look forward to bringing LifeWear to new markets.”
The store expansion comes on the back of strong customer demand in the country and will see Uniqlo increase its total store count to 33. Uniqlo opened its first store in Canada in 2016 and has steadily extended its presence in the country since then, opening stores in key cities.
The push in Canada is part of Uniqlo’s ongoing global strategy, with the retailer aiming to open 200 stores across North America by 2027.
