Ross Stores open 19 new locations as it aims for 90 openings in 2025
Ross Stores, Inc. is continuing to expand its store base. This month, the discount retailer opened 16 new Ross Dress for Less stores and three dd’s Discount stores across 14 states.
Part of the company’s ongoing plans to open roughly 90 new stores across the nation throughout fiscal 2025, this includes 80 Ross stores and 10 dd’s Discount locations.
“We continued to expand the store base of both Ross and dd’s this spring,” said Richard Lietz, executive vice president of property development, in a statement. “Specifically for Ross, we expanded our presence in the newer markets of Connecticut, Minnesota, New Jersey, and New York, while dd’s growth primarily focused on existing markets of California, Georgia, and Texas.”
“As we look out over the long term, we remain confident that Ross can grow to 2,900 locations and dd’s Discounts can become a chain of 700 stores given consumers’ ongoing focus on value and convenience,” he added.
The announcement comes not long after Ross Stores, Inc. issued a cautious outlook for fiscal 2025, forecasting comparable sales to range from a 1 percent dip to a 2 percent increase as consumer demand slows in part due to growing inflationary pressure and potential tariff impositions.
